Our client for this opportunity is a famous luxury fashion brands with an office in midtown, Manhattan dedicated to the wholesale and retail business they have in the US domestic market.

Objective

The Junior Financial Analyst will work with the Accounts Payable clerk and report to the Controller and Assistant Controller.

Ideal Profile

Ideal profile is someone with an Associate or Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance with 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting/financial analyst experience. Retail industry background a plus. WE NEED VERY STRONG SKILLS IN EXCEL (reconciliations, VLookup, PivotTables.) AND FAMILIAR WITH SAP!

Job Description

• Perform sales audit reconciliations and analysis, bank account reconciliations, accounting and financial record keeping tasks required in maintaining the general ledger of the company
• Reconcile daily cash register journals and cash/credit card receipts
• Prepare bank reconciliations for local bank accounts
• Investigate all discrepancies and process journal entries for local bank and credit card reconciliations
• Monitor and research chargeback transactions for all free standing locations
• Dispute chargeback when necessary
• Prepare monthly reporting (i.e. local bank reconciliation summary, monthly chargeback reports…)
• Assist accountant with lease department store reconciliation and analysis and preparation of related journal entries
• Work with the finance team on financial reporting and monthly account analysis
• Financial preparation, reporting and analysis of financial statements
• Participate in maintenance of Fixed Asset subledger
• Exposure to tax and risk management projects
• Help finance team on specific ad hoc project as needed
• Work closely with accountant and senior analyst and directly report to Assistant Controller

Requirements

• Accounting/Financial degree or 1-2 years relevant work experience
• Excellent with MS Office, Excel in particular
• Strong organization skills and accuracy
• Detail oriented Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Perfect presentation and communication skills

Our Client

Our client for this position is a French Luxury Goods wholesaler and retailer with an office in New York for the US domestic market.

Objective

Supervise bookkeeping and accounting. Close the books periodically. Prepare periodic reporting for local GM and Headquarters in France and periodic cash flow analysis. Coordinate relations with the CPA firm for quarterly and year-end closings. Provide on-demand analysis.

Ideal Profile

We are looking for a FRENCH speaking Finance person with understanding of US accounting and willing to grow into a head of finance position for a small local team. This is not a very senior Controller position, 4 or 5 years of relevant professional experience in enough. CPA would be a plus.

• Very strong MS Excel knowledge is a must
