Our client for this position is a well established privately owned Houseware and Tabletop importer and distributor, headquartered in the greater New York area.
OBJECTIVE
The Senior VP of Sales will be in charge of overseeing the global development of the company from a Marketing and Sales point of view. His main objectives will be to have a vision for the company, build the marketing and sales strategies and make sure they are properly implemented in order to perpetuate the growth of the company. He will report directly to the President/Owner of the company.

IDEAL PROFILE
The ideal profile for this position is a creative, visionary and very dynamic VP of Sales and/or Marketing with a high potential and a passion for the Houseware or Tabletop industry. He/She will have to be in the same time very growth oriented, entrepreneurial, organized and able to plan in details a successful strategy for the company.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Build a global detailled Sales and Marketing plan for the company on both Houseware and Tabletop categories
  • Supervise and manage the correct implementation of these strategies by the Sales and Marketing Directors
  • Design and develop new channel development initiatives with the whole range of retailers: discounters, mass retailers, specialty stores, department stores, independents and warehouse clubs
  • Anticipate trends and fashion
  • Participate in developing sales campaigns, sales programs, collaterals, new packaging with the Marketing Director
  • Overseeing the strategy in opening knew key accounts in particular specialty and department stores
REQUIREMENTS
  • Perfect knowledge of the Houseware and Tabletop categories (Dinnerware, Tableware, Flatware, Glassware, Stemware, Chinaware, Kitchenware, Cutlery Knife Sets, Gourmet Gadgets, Cookware, Electric Appliances…)
  • Up-to-date address book of buyers with all the retailer types mentioned above (in particular Department Stores, Specialty Stores and large independents)
  • Strong previous experience of both Marketing and Sales responsibilities
  • Strong previous experience of the US domestic market and Canada. The rest of the world is a plus
  • Excellent academic background (MBA a strong plus)
  • Good analytical and financial skills
  • Strong management skills
  • Very entrepreneurial and visionary
  • Strong computer literacy
