Job Description
Title: VP of International Sales & Marketing Manager
Location: South Connecticut, USA
Territory: Worldwide
Opportunity:
Their international business is growing at record pace and is a crucial facet to the Company’s near and long-term growth agenda. This position is critically important to their growth strategy and requires strong leadership, a true entrepreneurial spirit, and an aggressive go-getter attitude with unwavering initiative. Candidates must have extensive experience in opening new markets around the world, and executional know-how to sell in different global markets, especially in Latin America. This position is ideal for an experienced export professional wanting to take on much greater responsibility in a smaller, faster-paced entrepreneurial setting. They are the opposite of a P&G type structured corporate environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international sales in Latin America and up to date connections with Distributors as well as retailers (Wal-Mart, Carrefour…).
Primary Responsibilities:
· Create and execute strategic plan for rapid global expansion: market by market analysis, sales objectives by region, prioritization of new markets for expansion, strategies and tactics by market, budget, etc.
· Establish, manage and execute international marketing budget.
· Manage existing international distributors and retail accounts with focus on largest customers in Nigeria and the Middle East.
· Obtain forecasts from accounts and ensure stock availability.
· Identify the right way to enter each new market (distributor? retailer? wholesaler? legal entity? filler?…etc).
· Develop and execute business plans by country.
· Travel to existing and new markets on a regular basis.
· Attend trade shows, work with US Commerce Dept…etc. in order to explore new sales opportunities.
· Work with accounts and internal Packaging Department to develop account specific packaging, packout and regulatory requirements, labeling, ingredients…etc.
· Work with Marketing Department to develop new product ideas for international markets, merchandising aids, POP material…etc.
· Establish export pricing for new items.
· Supervise international product registration and related matters.
· Work with attorneys on international trademark issues and comparative advertising issues.
Background and Education:
· International Sales and Marketing professional with a minimum of 7 years experience.
· Extensive global travel experience required (50% +)
· Analytical skills a must.
· MBA preferred.
· Multi-lingual preferred.
· Ideal candidate has package goods background, preferable within the mass cosmetics, skincare, personal care or fragranceindustries.
Functional Skills:
· Export sales and management experience. Ideal candidate will bring with him/her contacts and relationships they can exploit to start or more rapidly develop The Company’s business.
· Experience in dealing with international distributors and retailers.
· Experience in opening new international markets.
· Experience in global travel.
· Ability to prepare business plan including marketing plan and especially the forecast.
