Job Description
Title: Environment, Hygiene, Safety & Facility Manager (EHS & Facility Manager)
Location: South Florida, USA
This opportunity is a key position in a “one of a kind”, very high tech and environment friendly Distribution Center (DC).
Procedures implementation and enforcement
· To organize the implementation and to ensure compliance with all procedures
· To implement the operational procedures of EHS Manual (Environment, Hygiene, Safety) (Translation, Coordination of execution, Update)
· Control and maintain a timely update documentary system
· To ensure a follow-up of the occupational hygiene
· To write the emergency plan
· To implement the instructions for specific events (attack, external demonstration, telephone threat, fire, etc…)
· To prepare and comply with the requests of the local authorities (investigation, declaration, etc…)
· To prepare the EHS monthly review (incidents, internal and corporate news events, EHS performance indicators and follow up on improvement plan)
· To organize the regulatory checks on: installation of material handling, pressurized, fire detection and protection equipment, personal and collective protective equipment, air conditioning, fire protection equipment.
· To organize the intervention of outside firms in accordance with procedures
· To control any purchase of operational equipment
· To ensure the control of the accidental of gradual risks of pollution
· To make sure of the good management of the site’s waste (recycling, cost…)
· To organize and manage the installations of security equipment
· To organize the plan of maintenance
Audits
· To carry out internal audits to check
· That the established rules on the site are strictly understood and respected
· That the site conforms to local regulation and Group requirements
· To coordinate EHS visits requested by insurer
Risk Management
· To guarantee the control of the dangers on the work stations and the installations:
· By coordinating specific risk analysis
· By carrying out, checks and examinations of at-risk equipment and set ups
· To have the knowledge and to follow Corporate rules and legal regulations for the protection of the people, the assets and the environment.
· To manage messages of alarm. To prepare, to communicate, to implement and to follow his action plan..
· Analysis of incident (Accident, near-missed accident, fire, robbery, etc…)
· To set up a statistical follow up of the roots causes of the incidents
Training
· To train the various actors (internal and external) on the suited major scenarii.
· To organize personnel awareness campaigns on the consequences of their daily actions.
· To propose, coordinate and follow up on the implementation of the EHS annual training plan:
· Over-all EHS welcome training
· Mobile equipment training and Power Industrial truck training
· Handling dangerous goods training
· Personal protective equipment training
· Fire Extinguisher training
· Back, eye and hand safety
· Heating / Air conditioning installation training
· Rescuers / First aid training
· Team members of first and second intervention training
Requirements:
· Scientific background
· A recently graduated EHS, MS with first experience of at least 2-3 years or BS with 8 years experience on EHS.
· Organization skills
· Ability to drive teams, ideas and projects
· Good communicator (training / animation / written)
· Bilingual : English, Spanish
· Legal / HR experience a plus.
Compensation Package:
· Base salary $60k to $80k
